An old postcard of Holland. I can’t picture actually walking in wooden shoes all day. These women seem to not be there for the tourist trade, but the card is from around 1920.

Two Different Girls 
Especially with the right socks, wooden shoes seem to be pretty comfortable. I only had one pair when I was a kid. There was a joy about wearing them, (but I was *NOT* allowed to wear them in the house!).
