With summer still hanging on, I wanted to share one of my favorite places to go in Antrim, NH. After you have bought your wool and yarn from Ann at The Wool Room, it’s a short drive to Tenney Farm.

Open only seasonally, Tenney Farm is where you get the best variety of local ice creams in town. You can even get ice cream for your dog. Dogs are welcome if well behaved. Tenney Farm also sells local made goods, including honey, maple syrup, pies and produce.

They also sell flowers and plants for your garden. In the fall, they sell pumpkins. The quality of the flowers, grown in their own green houses, is excellent. In other words, even I can not neglect my Tenney Farm bought flowers enough so that they die. The flowers manage to survive only being watered on weekends when we visit the small cabin.

It’s important to get as many visits to Tenney Farm as possible now, because after Columbus Day weekend the ice cream part closes! New Englanders eat more ice cream than any other part of the country. I haven’t figure out just why yet, but I think it could do with all the really good local ice cream.
